Valued Staff

As well as our valued volunteers, we employ 11 wonderful staff, 7 of whom have part-time contracts.

The majority of whom are support workers, providing direct one to one support to service users who attend the Hive, are supported within our younger people’s service or one of our outreach face-face services.

 Our Support workers

Support workers also have a huge role to play in supporting volunteers in terms of our text line support options and in wider roles within the organisation including:

  • Providing suicide intervention and prevention training to others
  • Supporting our wider awareness raising and fundraising initiatives
  • Working closely with Youth Highland and others to further the development of services for young people
  • Providing direct advocacy for service users when they need it with other services
  • Using skills-based approaches with individuals where beneficial, including Decider and DBT skills.

Every life is precious and matters

“It’s wonderful to be part of a service that has, at its heart, a passionate belief that every life is precious and matters.

The team of volunteers and staff are committed to listening to anyone who asks us for help. We’re always keen to learn more about how best to help in reducing suicide here in the Highlands of Scotland and beyond.”
