Work/Volunteer for us

Volunteering

First and foremost, thank you for showing an interest in Mikeysline and the hive.

We are always looking for people who are willing to help in some capacity with our cause. You will find an application form for volunteering with us below. There are two possible forms. If you wish to be involved in fundraising and attending events/manning stalls or being an ambassador for us, please use the “Application-for-Volunteering-Fundraising” form. If you would like to apply to provide support for those in times of difficulty, either via the textline service, the Hive service, or with any of our preventitive support work going forward, please use the “Application-for-Volunteering-Support” form. Full training will be given along with a PVG check/certification, for adults or children, depending on the role.

Thank you for your time.

Our volunteers, for the most part, have first hand experience of mental health challenges in some format. Whether that be their own problems, or people close to them, they have experienced it in some shape or form. Through these life experiences, it helps us to understand your issue.

We won’t be reciting a clinical script every time someone texts, or visits the Hive. We may ask for a few initial details, but after that, it’s time for us to listen. Not just listening, but hearing what you have to say.

You won’t find our volunteers shouting from the rooftops about their involvement. What you will find, is a sense of pride in what we are working towards. They have taken steps to help others when they need it most – we think the world of them for doing so!

From all walks of life, we have varied levels of experience through our ranks. Some have worked in the mental health field for years, while some are relatively new. The one thing they all have in common though, is the desire to help.

Are you reading this and thinking this could be you? Do you feel ready to listen and hear those who need it most? Would you be willing to give some of your time to provide an understanding and empathetic ear? We would love to hear from you, please don’t hesitate to contact us : volunteering@mikeysline.co.uk
