Mikeysline’s efforts in combating mental health, loneliness and suicide prevention were recognised at a prestigious digital event run by a global fundraising collective called 10x10 Philanthropy on 2nd December 2020.
The Highland-based charity, was one of just three organisations selected to feature in the event, the other two being from London. The crowdfunding initiative which aims to support different charities took place on the 2nd of December 2020.
10x10 is a movement that is spreading across 14 cities worldwide with the aim of empowering small charities across the globe. The organisation hosts philanthropic events to help raise awareness and funds for grassroots groups. Since 2017, the organisation has supported 30 small, nonprofit organisations and has raised over £200,000. This year, its UK event took place digitally because of the pandemic. With fears of the Coronavirus creating a mental health crisis, 10x10 felt it vital to celebrate three charities which put mental health first at a time when their support is needed more than ever.
The 10x10 UK Mental Health Special saw BLAM Charity (Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health) and The Listening Place represented and celebrated alongside Mikeysline as the three charities featured at this prestigious event.
