HIS does Movember!

Clean Shaves

Clean shaves were in for Highland Industrial Supplies (HIS) staff on 31st October, as a good number of the male team members prepared for Movember, the month of growing moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health, with their chosen charity being Mikeysline, in memory of their good friend and co-worker Adam Grant. Adam sadly and suddenly passed away in May.

As Ross MacLaren who is organising the fundraiser stated:

“We, at HIS, lost a family member when Adam passed. He was a colleague, a friend and some would have classified him as a brother. He was a great laugh, a jack the lad who made us smile and was genuinely just a wonderful young man.

Garry Mackintosh, Company Director, HIS said:

“The work that Mikeysline does is invaluable, supporting mental health is so important, our responsibilities and compassion extend beyond our 9 to 5 lives and Mikeysline is able to offer a fantastic support network, but like all charities they require help to raise vital funds and we at HIS are proud to be helping raise not only much needed funds but awareness surrounding mental health.”

Emily Stokes, Service Manager at Mikesyline said “The support we have had from HIS has been tremendous in raising awareness of Mikeysline through the banner they have sponsored since world mental health day in October, which faces the A9, through to this planned fundraiser.

The more we all talk about mental health, emotional distress and suicide openly, the more chance there is that people will access the support when they need it, reducing the tragic loss of lives in Highland.  We are extremely grateful for all staff at HIS for taking on this challenge in honour and memory of their friend and work colleague, Adam, and for ensuring that those wider messages go out.

HIS’s fundraising efforts during November, with match funding by HIS made over £25,000 for Mikesyline!
